Condolences
Leslie and I were very shocked and saddened to learn of Ron’s sudden passing. Ron and I met in Calgary in the mid 1970’s and were connected by our love of Porsches, especially silver 911’s. We both joined the Porsche Club and enjoyed many trips together to Porsche events as far away as San Diego. Ron was also a frequent visitor to Porsche events in the Vancouver area where I had relocated. He and I also shared a passion for motorcycles. Riding trips with Ron and other mutual friends later became an annual, much-anticipated event. Ron was my Best Man at our wedding when Leslie and I married in 1994. Although not as closely in the last few years, Ron and I always kept in touch. He was a good and dear friend whose company and quick wit I always enjoyed.
Rest in Peace my friend. We will miss you. Our sincerest condolences to Ron’s family.
I was saddened to hear of Ron's sudden passing. He was always a "good guy" both in life and work. I will remember him for his infectious laugh and always positive demeanor. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends
Ron was a lovely, laid-back guy who was always fun to be with. Respected at work by colleagues and loved after hours by friends. He will be greatly missed.
... I have known and appreciated Ron Davey for a number of years ... a "car guy" ... yet a GENUINE friend who would help others find the RIGHT car ... ( or "toy") to enjoy. GONE TOO SOON and will be missed in various circles by MANY quality people who enjoyed Ron in his time here with us ...

Ron’s sudden passing shocked us as we recently hosted him for his 75th Birthday Oct 17th. I’ve known Ron and his family since the late 60’s in Saskatoon.
I enjoyed his passion for nice things including motor vehicles, and his attention to detail was impressive. In the early 70’s Ron and I created our own version a “Corvette Summer “ with a road trip driving his ‘Big Block’ 4 speed Roadster from Saskatoon to Victoria.
While physical distance between Ron and ourselves always existed we tried to ‘break bread’ together when possible and we will miss him beyond words.
Gone but never forgotten.
Ron was a great guy and a very congenial colleague at the Calgary Crown Prosecutor's Office. His calm demeanour and sense of humour will be greatly missed.
Donna and I are very saddened by Ron’s sudden passing. I’ve known Ron since the early 1980’s and looked after his motorcars for many years. It was always a pleasure to work on Ron’s cars. He was very particular and the cars were always clean and tidy. We enjoyed many fun trips together on the motorcycles and to numerous car shows and museums over the years. He was a good travel companion and we would always seek out a nice meal and wine and talk about our exploits that day and plan the next day’s events. This past April, Ron and I fulfilled a dream trip to Germany to see the many famous, and some obscure, car museums, and other sights including the Nurburgring. A toast to you Ron – gone from us far too soon, my friend. May you rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to Ron’s family.
Cheryl and I were shocked to learn of Ron's sudden passing. As with many of Ron's friends, my acquaintance started with the attachment to and love for the Porsche automobile. We were part of the local group of Porschephiles that organized and started the Wild Rose Region Chapter of the PCA. Ron was a true gentleman who we were privileged to have known and called a great friend. Over the past few years, Ron was a frequent dinner guest at our acreage outside of Calgary that Ron named the "Ponderosa". Almost every time Ron visited we were entertained by wildlife outside our dining room window. The moose, deer, coyotes and rabbits were affectionately referred to as "critters" by Ron. Cheryl made sure Ron had a full "doggy" container of leftovers with the promise to return the container at the next dinner. We moved to Vancouver Island and were preparing for Ron's "annual" pre-Christmas visit when we were informed of the very sad news. We will miss you old friend. Adios Amigo - Hasta La Vista.........
We have lost a dear friend. I met Ron in the early nineteen eighties, through our interest in all things Porsche, a small group of us including Ron formed the Porsche Club of America Wild Rose Region chapter. It was in 2022 that Ron and a few of us old timers went to the 40th anniversary dinner organized by our club. It had been quite a journey, remembering all those weekend drives in our little sports cars. Ron was always the well dressed guy in our group especially at our wedding. I was a client of Ron until he moved away from private practice. i was very pleased that he finally got into the Crown Prosecutor's Office. He loved his fine dinning and we shared some of those fond memories over the years.
We will miss Ron.
It was such a shock to hear the news of his passing. Ron was a great colleague at the Crown's office, so kind and thoughtful. He was a very good lawyer, but an even better person. I shall miss the opportunity to discuss F1 results and cars in general. Rest well my friend, you most certainly have earned it.
Ron was always by far the best dressed person in the room, and even after a long night at Billy Bob’s a kind, considerate, and gentle person. He was an unsung hero of the criminal bar in Calgary, focusing on respectfully resolving ordinary cases for ordinary people. He never sought the limelight, and deserved fully all the considerable respect he earned as a superb lawyer.
We wish him well in his final drive into the sunset. May his family take comfort in that fact that he lived life well and fully until the very end.
I was saddened to hear of Ron's passing. I first met Ron when I joined the Crown Prosecutors office in 2004. We spent some great times talking about life and our joint love for Saskatchewan. Ron was a wonderful person. The world has lost one of the good ones. Farewell my friend.
I am so sad and shocked to learn of the passing of my good friend. I will miss him very much. Ron truly loved his vintage Porsche and gave it the very best care. He was a very kind and good man. He is gone too soon.
Ron Davey was a dear friend for a number of years. Our love for the Porsche Automobile brought us together and allowed us to share many, many wonderful times together, always involving some aspect of our common hobby. From all those great lunch get-togethers to mingling with the the very rich and famous in Pebble Beach, Ron was always an integral part of the four Porschephiles that looked to explore some aspect of Porsche ownership. Maybe one of the highlights was meeting one of the original Porsche marque founders at one of the many Whistler Porsche weekends Ron and some of his friend partook in. Ron went through some tough times in his personal life and I know the strength of his bond to his friends helped Ron so very much to face adversity and the challenges he faced . I first met Ron when he was in private practice and that of course evolved into his employment as a Crown Prosecutor, something he enjoyed doing very much, but it was also a very demanding job for him. A connoisseur of fine wine and food, I so much treasure the many wonderful memories I have of Ron when we had our annual Christmas parties at my home. Ron was the kindest and most polite person you could meet and he was always there to lend a helping hand when his friends where facing some sort of crisis situation. I will miss Ron so very much. Ron, thank you for the memories and Good Motoring !

Ron was a lifelong friend. My daughter Jaime and Pat and I shared many memories with him over the years. We considered him a part of our family. Ron will be sadly missed. Jane Clare (Stopa)
Ron Davey represented the very best in a Crown Prosecutor. Fair, well prepared, calm, and eloquent in the courtroom. The courtroom always ran smoothly when he was the prosecutor. I liked and respected him very much. He is missed by all who knew him. Heather Lamoureux
I was very lucky to have had Ron as a treasured colleague for many years. He was a true gentleman and unfailingly good humoured. I wish that he had had more time to enjoy his retirement. My condolences to his family and his other friends.
Ron was an amazing mentor and support to me early in my career. I will always remember him fondly and with respect.
Ron was truly a gentleman who treated everyone in a friendly and dignified manner. He was truly a delight to deal with as a prosecutor, for he was not only fair and compassionate, he took the time to visit on a personal level. He would always jest with me by calling me "Madman Muntz" suggesting I must have been associated with Muntz Electronics which sold car stereo equipment with madcap television commercials.
When a man passes away, people often say he was a gentleman and a scholar. In Ron’s case, truer words were never spoken. Ron’s reputation was that of a man of honour and integrity, who always had time for others, and treated everyone as equals. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
Ron 's loss is a big loss to our legal community. He was a Prosecutor that I always enjoyed working with. He was always fair and listened carefully to my point of view. He was universally liked and respected. Sending my sincere sympathy to his family and friends.
