Obituary of Ronald Charles Browning

Ron Browning, aged 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Born in Edmonton, AB on June 23, 1932, Ron’s life was one of extraordinary accomplishments, steadfast love, an inspirational commitment to his family, hard work, and continual learning.

Ron was deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Hazel, who he cherished as the love of his life. He loved to recount their story, always speaking of her beauty, kindness, and the bond they shared. Their love spanned decades and continues to be an inspiration.

Ron rose from humble beginnings as a high school dropout to become the CFO of a major oil and gas company to provide a stable loving home for his family. Nothing was too challenging when he wanted to accomplish something. He became an RIA, CPA, CA, and, after retirement studied to become fluent in Spanish.

Ron’s legacy includes his unshakable determination, adventurous spirit, and devotion to family. He leaves behind his wife Hazel, sons Keith and Brian, daughter-in-law Connie, sister Mary Hutchinson, grandchildren Anna and Gillian, and countless friends and loved ones.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Archie and Edith Browning, and his sister Carol Browning.

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Prairie Sky Cemetery (12350 84 Street, SE, Calgary, AB).

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Browning’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
