Obituary of Candace Lane Kermode Theriault
July 17, 1963 - Edmonton, Alberta
December 3, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Candace Lane Theriault (Kermode) on December 3, 2024, at the age of 61 years old.
Candace was born in Edmonton, AB, on July 17, 1963. She moved to Calgary, AB, in her early years.
Candace had many jobs, one of her most memorable jobs was working as a Loomis courier armoured truck guard, which she enjoyed very much. Later in life, she became a tax accountant, where numbers were her passion, and she was a true wizard to all her clients who were so thankful to her.
Candace's legacy was helping her friends and strangers selflessly, wherever and however she could.
Candace enjoyed and loved her flower garden in her backyard, and her indoor plants were like children to her. She also had a very close relationship with the squirrels and birds at her home, whom she fed daily. Candace adored road trips to the mountains, especially Moraine Lake. To know Candace was to know she lived her life her own way and on her own terms.
In 2018 Candace was diagnosed with cancer and endured many rounds of chemotherapy, but to no avail. She remained brave and strong for many years, but it became too much for her heart and body. Candace was so grateful to her many friends and her niece Rhonda, who helped her through her cancer journey.
She would want us to keep being kind to each other and enjoy every single day. The love Candace left behind for so many of us was her legacy.
