Obituary of Kirk Lyndon Anderson

December 29, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Kirk Anderson passed away at the age of 64 on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in Calgary, AB.
Kirk attended William Aberhart High School in Calgary, AB, and later graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Telecommunications. He devoted 29 years of his career to Shaw Cable, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. As a member of the Shaw organization, Kirk led Shaw Calgary's volunteer program. He mentored over 400 volunteers, teaching them all aspects of television production.
In his free time, Kirk was an avid woodworker and enjoyed making intricately crafted gifts for his loved ones. His passion for woodworking extended to exotic woods such as ironwood and mesquite. He was also a skilled guitar player and loved playing.
Kirk is fondly remembered for his loving devotion to his cat, Fuzzy, who was his faithful companion through his final journey.
Kirk was predeceased by his brother, Eric Jerome Anderson (2011), and his parents, Jerome Ernest Anderson (2002) and Catherine Anderson (née Dale) (2020).
He will forever be missed by his brothers, DeWitt Charles Anderson (Strathmore, AB) and Malcolm Douglas Anderson (Calgary, AB), and his life-long friend Steve Zarowny (Mullingar, SK).
The family would like to thank all the people who helped him through his final months, especially the teams at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Center, Medicare Plus Pharmacy, and the Home Palliative Team.
Rest in peace, Kirk. You will be deeply missed.
