Obituary of Jeannette SUTHERLAND

April 24, 1937 – Timmins, Ontario May 30, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta Friends of Jeannette Sutherland are saddened to announce her passing at Chinook Hospice on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Jeannette was predeceased by her husband Bob in 2008, and her parents Eddy and Clara Barker. She is survived by Bob’s cousins the Tensee, Reid and Guscott families. She enjoyed a 41-year career in the insurance industry with The Great American Insurance Company and Reed Stenhouse (AON), which included assignments in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. In her retirement she enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading, gardening, and playing cards. She loved animals of all kinds and was a great supporter of the Calgary Humane Society. Jeannette and Bob travelled the world, often on a cruise ship with a host of friends. She will be fondly remembered for her feistiness and generosity. Colleagues and friends are invited to share their memories at Jeannette’s Happy Hour, to be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25th , at the Carriage House Inn, 9030 Macleod Trail South, Calgary AB.
