Condolences
Sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. So many good memories of good times past.
Lylian, we just learned of Doug’s passing and would like to send our condolences to you and the rest of his family. Such a shock to hear. I hope you all take good care!
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Doug’s passing. He was a good friend and travel companion. He and I shared a vast array of great times traveling and skiing and I will cherish the memories we share.
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. He will be remembered and missed by so many.
We met Doug during his work with the Bankview community; we appreciated his interest in the community and his great willingness to help and contribute. Doug was a particular fan and supporter of Bankview’s involvement in the Century Homes Celebration of recent years; he shared his pleasure in looking after his century home. In so many ways he was a fine contributor to the spirit of this unique community.
While we did not know Doug and his family well, we share the huge sense of loss when someone with such interests and activities and connections leaves us all too soon. May the emptiness be filled with good memories.
Doug and I met at the tender age of six. He was a neighbour when we moved in with my grandmother in 1955; we quickly became friends and he helped me discover the area. Through the two years before his family’s move to Calgary we shared an electronics hobby, encouraged by his dad Bruce, which morphed into a career for both of us.
We kept in touch over the years, seeing each other face-to-face when possible. During a family visit to Toronto a couple of years ago, I found out Bruce had grown up in the neighbourhood and attended the same high school as I did…and that we had some of the same teachers 30 years apart!
Unaware that Doug was experiencing any medical problems, I was shocked to learn of his passing. On behalf of my wife Lucia and myself I offer sincerest condolences to Bruce, Lylian, Keith and Victoria and their families. Doug will be sorely missed.
To Doug’s family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy for your great loss. I always admired Doug and considered him a good friend. He will be greatly missed.
To all Doug’s family. We offer our deepest sympathies in the loss of Doug. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The Kerr family – Marg, Rob, Frankie, Jennifer and Elizabeth.
