Obituary of Darryl SMITH

December 6, 1957- January 8, 2014 Darryl Edward Smith of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the age of 56 years. Darryl was born on December 6, 1957 in Chatham, Northumberland, New Brunswick and received his education at John G. Diefenbaker High School and SAIT Polytechnic. Darryl joined Brookfield Johnson Controls as a Mobile Technician on April 1, 2002. One of his proudest moments, was the birth of his daughter Juliene, followed by his very memorable first trip to Scotland. His biggest passions were camping, fishing and tinkering with mechanics. His biggest life challenge was the passing of his mother Eileen from cancer when he was only 17. Darryl will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Juliene and her mother Lorna Penman, elder brother Larry, elder sister Lynn and niece Karen. He was predeceased by his father George Arthur Smith and his mother Eileen Ruth Whelan. A Celebration of Darryl’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
