Condolences
For the little time we shared together while working at CRA, I really got to know and admire Bill for the great talent he had to be able to make someone feel good inside just by his presence. We spent some great moments together in Calgary, Penticton, and during his travels to Quebec. His passing was a shock and unexpected to me! Just thinking back to those times, the stories and laughter we shared, makes me realize that I will miss him greatly. To Bill’s family and friends, I would like to offer my sincere condolences for your great loss. He will be remembered forever!
I was saddened by the news of Bill’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill through CRA four years ago but it felt like I’d known him forever. He was truly a great man; his love for laughter and life only made him greater and stronger. I could always count on him to put a smile on my face no matter what!
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your loved one.
Bill, Someone as special as you can never be forgotten!
I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. We were very good friends in the sixties. We as all kids do, went our separate ways. I married, moved from Calgary as did Bill. We returned to Calgary in the ninety’s and I began working at the Oakridge Coop and low and behold who did I run into but Bill over the years. I would see Bill at the store and have some great chats. I will miss our visits. Bill was a great guy and a good friend.
I would like to offer my condolences for your loss. I worked with Bill for many years and he was a professional, always managed to lighten the situation and break the tension, his laugh always made me smile, his “booming” voice always gave him away, and generally I enjoyed working with him very much. In recent years I ran into him occassionally on my walk into work and we always managed to have a few laughs. I am saddened by his passing.
Bill and I had many “working holidays” in Australia, Germany, Dallas and Houston. The vacation time we took after the conferences were indeed memorable.
My deepest condolences to Bill’s family.
I had the pleasure of working with Bill during my time in the CRA’s International Tax Section in Calgary. After I left the CRA Bill was always approachable, helpful, and fun to chat with. My deepest sympathy to Bill’s family, friends, and his colleagues for their loss.
It was an honour and pleasure to have known and worked with Bill at the Canada Revenue Agency.
My deepest sympathy to the Waddy family and friends.
I was very fortunate to call Bill my friend. We worked at CRA for many years. I will always remember his great smile and hearty laugh. It was always great fun to be with Bill, he loved life, his family and his many friends. My most heart felt condolences to Bill’s family and friends.
Bill was a wonderful guy, the life of the party & a true warrior to the end. I had the pleasure of knowing Bill since March of 1993 when I first met him on a course in Ottawa. I was Bill’s counterpart as the Pacific Region international tax advisor for the past several years & considered him a good friend. We shared many good times together at our meetings & conferences over the years. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family & friends & to Paula. Bill was special.
I first met Bill in the mid 90s and consider that I was very fortunate to know him as both as a colleague and friend. He was always very devoted to his work and his friends and family and hid a softness beneath a sometimes gruff exterior. Bill lit up whatever room he was in and was one of those rare people that almost everyone liked. Even if you disagreed with something he said or did it was impossible to stay angry with him for very long.
I will always remember the trips we shared around the Prairies and to Houston and will miss him dearly.
Condolences to Bill’s family and friends.
We are deeply greiving the loss on our best freind Bill. We have known Bill since 1988 when he moved here from Pentiction, BC. Our families lived two blocks away and we shared many great times together with Bill and his children. Our summer camping trips with all our children and the Stensruds were always a riot. We are going to miss the Christmas invites and the Saturday afternoon refreshments. Our deepest sympathy to Bill’s children, grand children, wonderful sisters and their husbands and his special friend Paula. Bill loved you all a great deal. Goodbye our old freind we will miss you Bill. Love Barb, Ron, Amanda and Christopher Bichel
We are so sorry to hear of the death of “Billy”. We remember him and all of your lovely family and will remember him and all of you in our prayers. Love the Comstock family
I was saddened to read of Bill’s passing in the Ottawa Citizen, today.
I, like Bill, worked for the CRA, at the Ottawa Headquarters International Tax Directorate. Bill was an International Tax specialist in Calgary (Prairie Region) and I had the pleasure of working with him during my time at the ITD. I will always remember his “booming voice and unmistakable laugh”…and that he still owes me a beer from the last time we were together many years ago. Know that Bill had made many friends during his career with the CRA and that he will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family.

I was very saddened upon hearing of Bill’s passing. I first met Bill when he joined the CRA in Penticton and I got to know him again while working with him out of Ottawa in recent years. He was really a man of generous spirit and it was an honour and privledge to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill’s family and friends as they remember Bill. Thank you Bill for the good times that we spent together.
My deepest sympathy to Bill’s family and many friends! Bill’s love, generosity, good humour, cleverness, skills & attentions will remain with us forever! It was a privilege to work with Bill!
Our heartfelt sympathy to everyone. Billy was definitely one of the good guys and his presence will be greatly missed. His suffering is “over” – amen to that and God Bless his spirit.
Hugs to the family, Doreen & Rick Shandro-
It is with great sadness that we send our Condolences. He was our neighbour, friend and confident. We enjoyed many happy hours together either at his place or ours. Our Bonfires in the summer months were second to none. We have missed him for many months now but feel blessed he is finally at rest. We will forever look across the road and see you mowing lawn or trimming trees. You will be in our hearts forever.
Your best friends Max and Beth
