I am so sorry to hear about Murray. He trained me for work in CBSA for the Whitehatters. He ran me up those 53 steps three times in one day. I still laugh about that even tho the elevator is so handy now. He was so kind to a new beginner. My sincere sympathy. Marge Masson

I am sorry to hear of Murray’s passing and I extend condolences and offer prayers to the entire Service family during this difficult time. My introduction to Murray was through umpiring; me as a young espiring umpire with much to learn, and Murray as a seasoned vetern with much to share. I remember him for his tremendous love and passion for the game and his dedication to his role as an umpire. Rest assurred that if Murray is adjudicating at the Pearly Gates, everyone will get a ‘fair call’! God Bless.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Murray Service. Murray was a long time Baseball Umpire Mentor, Colleague and Great Friend as I first met Murray back in the mid-1970’s when he umpired at the Annual Lacombe Lions Baseball Tournament. Murray took me under his wing when I first started umpiring ball with the Alberta Association, and I learnt SO MUCH from him in the 35+ years of Baseball Involvement with Murray. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and I know Murray is on God’s Ball Field right now calling Balls & Strikes! Rest easy my friend and you will always be in my memories!

I am sorry to hear that Murray has passed away. I worked with Murrary in the early 80’s out at the TransAlta Division One office. I was just out of school and didn’t know what the heck to expect. Murray was always helpful and it was great that we both shared the wry sense of humor that he had.

My thoughts are with the family at this time.
