Condolences
Beryl and I worked together with Observation Nurseries. She was a giving and compassionate lady. What a life of service to others she lived!! She will always be remembered.
Beryl was a Mom to me. We met when I was just 14 years old – she was our camp Mom at Camp Kananaskis. And the bond continued onward throughout her life and mine. Along that road, she taught me, as she did many others who loved her, many valuable life lessons – especially those which focused on caring for one another – from infants to old age. She was wonderful. And her spark is reflected in her family, who continue Beryl’s legacy into another generation. Rest well, Mom.
To David and Family,
Sending along my condolences on the loss of Beryl. I am sure she has earned her rest. My sister, Geri Moir, let me kow of Beryl’s passing, she works in the dental department of the Foothills Hospital. Beryl and our Mom, Shirley Smith, were good friends at The Church of the Transfiguration. I babysat your children on numerous occassions when they were little.
“To live on in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.” I wish you all peace and comfort.
With fond memories,
Leslie Smith
Deepest condolences to David and Family. Beryl’s visits with us were like a breath of fresh air. She showed an obvious passion in helping the plight of those less fortunate during those brief visits.
She will leave a lasting legacy which we hope will help David and those close to her through this difficult time.
To David, Rosie & all of your Families,
We send our heartfelt condolence on the loss of your wife, mother, grandmother, friend- Beryl’s kind heart, compassion and kindred spirit left a lasting impression on us during the few visits and conversations we had with her.

All our love, Bernie, Danny, Angela, Brendan, Alicia, Jason, Jennifer, Emily, Chloe, Michael, Karol, Hudson, Danielle, Adam, and Gabrielle
Our deepest condolences to a person who was always teeming with life. Beryl’s dedication, support and commitment of public health care was greatly appreciated. Her work with the Calgary Friends of Medicare will be remembered and celebrated.
It has been a very long time but we have fond memories of the times we spent together. We were sorry to hear of Beryl’s passing but we realize that the joy you had together back then must have stayed with you through your many years together.
Dear Paula and Family,
It’s been many years since you and I sat in your mum’s kitchen, drinking tea and learning from her through her warmth, compassion, wit and many words of wisdom…
It really seems like not long ago.
I am truly sorry to hear of her passing and of your loss.
I think your mum left a great deal of wisdom for many to share. Something that is always with us and that we can share. Thanks Mrs. Wood…
Dear Paula and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May you be comforted by many happy memories.
So sorry for your loss. May the “God of All Comfort” comfort you in your grief and may Beryl’s legacy live long in your hearts and lives. Our prayers are with you and our hearts are saddened by Beryl’s passing and yet encouraged by our shared hope for what awaits for us in Eternity.
With Love Gary & Annette
All the Wood’s know how much we love and cherished Beryl. She was a light of kindness, love, compassion and inclusion. She was always there with a cheery hello to all, and oh that smile! I wanted to share the first time I met Beryl. It was David and Beryl’s first trip to Edmonton after their engagement to “meet the in-laws”. Beryl was like a breath of fresh air. My fondest memory of my new big sister was walking down the street, holding hands (this was a very big unusual thing for pre teen me) and Beryl singing at the top of her voice. That walk is as clear in my mind today as it was when it happened some 50 years ago; my initial reticence replaced with pure delight. I see that joy for life reflected in all her family. Our hearts go out to all her wonderful family.
