Obituary of Beryl Rose WOOD

May 21, 1930 – Eccles, England August 16, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta Beryl Wood, daughter of Thomas and Rose Jackson and beloved wife of David Wood of Calgary, died on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the age of 83 years. In a room full of love, with her family gathered around her, Our English Rose passed away peacefully. Besides the loving support that Beryl gave to her family, she gave much to her community and church, including founding Observation Nursery School, teaching children of all ages and being with her people on the Blackfoot Reserve. She lived her life so beautifully, with intelligence, spirit, compassion, love, a great deal of music and laughter. She taught us wonderful lessons of life for which we will all be forever grateful. So live with light in your heart, meet and greet others with open arms and appreciate everyone for who they are. Every day is a gift. Besides her loving husband of fifty years David Wood, Beryl is survived by five children; Gareth and Cheryl Wood, granddaughter Caitlin; Roseanne and Pierre Binette, grandsons Gabriel and Paul; Paula and Brian Stanko; Leah and Marcel Lacroix, grandsons Zachary and Dylan; and Dewi Wood and Serena Staples. A Celebration of Beryl’s Life will be held at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer (218 – 7th Avenue S.E.) on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
