Obituary of Alan RICHARDS

November 1, 1953 – July 14, 2013 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alan, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, on July 14, 2013, at the age of 59 while hiking at Mt. Yamnuska. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-one years, Lisa; his children Trevor and Carla; and his sister Alice. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Richards. Born in Lethbridge, AB, he was an avid golfer, curler and skier. Alan was a long standing member of Cottonwood Golf Club. He loved the camaraderie and he loved the game. He was pretty good at it too – his golf career was highlighted with a hole-in-one on #6 last year. He was a member of the Maverick Curling League at the Calgary Curling Club as well as at the Garrison Curling Club, winning his fair share of bonspiels. Alan was well-known and well-respected in the tightly knit geophysical community, where he worked for more than thirty years.
