Condolences
We are so saddened to hear of John’s passing – he was our “Nutman” here at Shouldice Lodge for years and was always so happy and patient with our seniors – he will be missed.
It was always a good day when John made his stop at our office. With his sense of humour, warm and engaging personality, and gentle manner, he could brighten your day no matter what else was going on. I will deeply miss our ‘Nutman’, and send my condolences and prayers to his family and friends. Rest in peace, John, and Bless you for gracing us with your presence over the years.
I am so sorry to hear this news. We will always remember our Nutman John. He would bring special items he knew we would enjoy. I don’t know how many dancing and singing animals I have brought home to my children thanks to him. What a great guy he was! He will be sadly missed. Our sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace John.
I only had the privilege and honour of knowing John, the Nutman, for only a short few months. However, during that time John always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He was a pleasure to talk with and it just makes one realize that you don’t need to know someone for a long time in order for them to touch you in a very special way, I am so sorry for your loss but hopefully knowing how much he was loved by everyone will help ease your pain.
My sincerest condolences to John’s family and friends. I work at Maple Ridge golf course and have known John for many years both as a golfer and as a co-worker. He was always such a pleasure to be around, with his cheerful attitude and big beautiful laugh. When John walked into the clubhouse you couldn’t help but smile and know that your day just got better. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him at Maple Ridge.
We knew John at our office as the “Nut Man”. He would come every second week bearing all sorts of treats to purchase and sample. We looked forward to his visits not only for his treats but because he always had a smile on his face and some kind words to share with us. We will miss him greatly. Everyone here really loved him.

My sincerest condolences to John’s family and friends. John was a lovely, caring man who always made sure I had a constant supply of dried fruit snacks for my 2 parrots! John will be missed by myself and my colleagues at the Cochrane Community Health Centre.
I was sadded to hear of John’s passing. He always brought smiles to all around him and will be missed. My sincere condolences to John’s family.
It was my pleasure to know John through his work with ” the Nutman”. I looked forward to visiting with him when he came to Indian Oil and Gas Canada where many of us enjoyed “the Nutman” products. He was pleasant and a true joy to see every week. We will miss him. My deepest sympathies go out to the family at this most difficult time and God Bless John in his final journey.
We will remember John and his great personality, we will miss him in every other Wednesday afternoon when he used to bring his merchandise and his contagious enthusiasm to our office at the South Tower of the Foothills Hospital, 6th floor. We all enjoyed his visits and had a good time laughing together. Until we meet again.
The 110 members of the Maple Ridge Men’s Golf Club extend their sincere condolences to John’s family. His wit and humour on the first tee as our Saturday morning Starter will definitely be missed. Our guys were asking where he was this past Saturday. The Club House Staff told us of his passing when we finished our round. John always had something amusing to offer and he will definitely be missed.
I have had the honour of knowing John for over 10 years through his work at Nutman. What a gracious and special man. He was so dedicated and always arrived with that big smile on his face and an amusing tale. Rest in peace my dear friend. To the family, may memories be your greatest treasures and time the greatest healer.
I offer my sincere condolences for your loss. John or the Nutman as we called him at the Aboriginal Affairs Office on Tsuu T’ina was a fixture of our Friday office. His smile, easy charm, and sense of humour often made my day and my fellow co-workers day. He will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. John put a smile on our faces and treats for our tummy every Friday as he came by our office. He was a very kind and gentle soul. He will be greatly missed. May God Bless you all.
I must echo Sandi’s sentiments as our office folk have looked forward to seeing John almost every Friday for those years as our Nut Man! He gave us smiles at no extra charge, always a fine demonstration of some seasonal gift to raise the spirit, and a great sensibility that marked his visits we already miss… We will pause to remember and offer a prayer for him this Friday and offer our sincerest condolences to the Friends and Family of John “the Nut Man” Ressler. Rest in Peace.
I was very shocked and saddened to read of John’s passing. Whenever John came by our offices for many years, he always had a good way about him, smiling away, as he was showing us the latest goodies he had on his cart. His easy going nature attracted many customers, such as myself. One of my recent and last memories of John will be – is the little chocolate bar that he left on my office chair (I happened to be away from my desk, when he came by). I just knew that little bar was left by John, the Nutman. Thank you John for your kindness. My sincere condolences to John’s family.
