Condolences
Matt was the best boss/mentor/co-worker of my life. I met Matt in 1999 when he hired me to be a surety underwriter with Guardian/Wellington. Long after I moved on to be a farmer and he had retired, we would always email each other. Matt loved the English language and all it’s (or is it its?) grammatical nuances. I will miss his gentle guidance.
Matt and I did business together during the 80's here in Calgary, I as the broker and Matt as the bond underwriter at Guardian. We fought like cats and dogs, then we would go out to the nearest pub and have a pint or two. Those were good times. I miss them and I will miss him.
Rest in peace Matt.
Long time colleague from Toronto. Even after Matt retiring, he always emailed me to wish me for my birthday. All those years ago he had his trusty PDA that helped him keep track. I sure will miss those back and forth emails
I first met Matt in the mid eighties. I enjoyed my friendship with Matt and will miss him.
I remember Uncle Matt sending me and my sister presents for Christmas when I was about 12 and Kristen maybe 13 or 14. Well I definitely didn't play with transformers at that age but it still made me giggle. He obviously thought that was what I played with or couldn't quite remember my age lol.
Well I haven't been in touch with him for the better part of 20 yrs but he was still my uncle and I will truly miss him.
