Condolences
Hi Ardell . Hope all is well with you & your family. Just found out about your sister. God Bless. Laurel
I met Marilyn one summer long ago in Medicine Hat when I was staying with my grandmother, Florine for a summer of figure skating. Marilyn was so kind to me and I have never forgetten that time or Marilyn. On behalf of the King Family (Rick, Linda, Lorrie, Tara and Florine) please accept our condolences on the loss of Marilyn.
Moyer Family: Please accept my sympathy for the loss of Marilyn. Ardell & family: It sounds like you were very close to Marilyn. I know that all memories will be happy ones. Take care.
Karen (Sautner)
Marilyn and the entire Moyer family are firmly fixed in our happy memories of Kimmitt Family Reunions over the years in Alberta. That LAUGH! Her joi de vie! We smile just thinking about her.
We miss Stan and Eunice very day and will miss Marilyn by association with the wonderful extended family and those warm, fun times in Canada.
Dear Joanne and Ardell and your wonderful families: A more fitting and beautiful tribute to your amazing sister could not have been done. I thank you for your warmth and welcoming ways, and I feel so blessed to have had Double M in my life. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. That Double M, she was one hell of a Dame! Love, Dash
Dear Joanne and Tom, Ardell and Lanny and Family,
We send our sincere sympathy and kind thoughts…..and I have great memories of Marilyn. Riding in the back of the red and white Chevy half ton in Elkwater singing the Camp McCoy theme song, the Merc convertible, and many more. Sorry we didn’t see her much in later years, but won’t forget her.
Love from Pat and Jackie Bishop and boys
I was saddened to read in our Medicine Hat News of Marilyn’s passing! It may seem odd to you but over the past 2 months I had been thinking often of Marilyn and her wonderful sense of humour and infectious laugh. I loved the way she lived life with such passion, never wasting a second! She was definitely one of God’s treasures here on earth and will be missed by all who knew her. What a woman!!!
Please know you have my thoughts and prayers for angels of comfort and healing to surround you.
Sincerely – Diana Campbell (-Marchand)
Dear Ardelle and family,

With Sympathy,
Lorraine
Marilyn, I will miss your wonderful spirit and humor.
My heartfelt condolences to Marilyn’s family.
To Joanne and Ardell and all the Moyer family, my deepest condolences. Marilyn is one of the greatest gifts that I ever received. From the first time I met her in 1980, to a wonderful evening we spent this July – Mar always filled me with joy, love and laughter. And that incredible smile. She means so much to me.
Goodbye Marilyn, your laughter and cheer will remain here forever, our world is fortunate for a spirit like you. See you again one day. Love from Craig and Naomi Fay.
May we extend our most sincere condolences at this very difficult time. In 1970 as I lived in “Res” at U of C, an amazing vibrant young lady became a dear friend, in no time. As I read Marilyn’s obituary, tears ran down my face as how perfectly and eloquently you captured Marilyn personality and the love, care, homour, and total frienship that she shared so givingly. Double M was a servant of God and his “Volunteer “, She will now soar in heaven as all Angels do !!! I was graced that she was part of my life.
Dear Joanne and Ardell, and your families,
We were sorry to read of the passing of your sister, Marilyn, into a surprising and marvellous new adventure.
She was an outtanding person and personality as is so articulately described in her beautiful obituary. Although we did not have much contact after I left Calgary, I will continue to remember her friendship and hospitality, particularly during my years in Calgary.
With sincere sympathy and condolences on your loss, and with care and prayers during this difficult time, no matter how much upbeat one can be about Marilyn’s life with us,
Bill and Geraldine Opalka
My dear Marilyn… I shall forever be grateful for mentoring me and encouraging me to spread my wings and fly. I will always remember that you gave me my start in a successful film career. More importantly I will remember the kindness you bestowed upon everybody. You taught me how to be gracious and noble. I will miss your infectious laugh, your kindness and your genuity. Thank you for leaving me a piece of your awesomeness. I will miss you always….and a piece of you has filled my heart forever.

My thoughts and fond memories are very much with all of you, particularly Ardell and Joanne. You are such a wonderfully loving family and I know you will miss Marilyn. I treasured her friendship during the time that I spent with her.
Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Marilyn, a wonderful lady I had the opportunity and honour to work with a number of years ago. (At that time, she was a ‘principal’ with ThoughtBubble Productions and I was a Producer/Director with White Iron Productions.) Sincere condolences to the family from my wife, Dorothy, and I.
Marilyn was one of a kind and I feel very lucky to have known her. She was always so positive. Always interested in my next project or film idea. Yes the laugh was something you could have bottled and sold. It was gold. She was a special person who really cared about others. Her spirit and her laughter will stay with us always. See ya later Marilyn when we meet again in that other Big Sky Country…assuming I get in, I know you’re already there I can hear you laughing down here in Tofield! Love ya Franny D.
My deepest sympathies to the Family of Marilyn.I remember living on 3rd st Med Hat and walking to School with Marilyn in my younger years.
Joanne, Ardell and Family

So sorry to hear about Marilyn, we went to school at McCoy, for a year or so I was the official Chauffeur as Marilyn only had a learner’s licence, what a time we had.
She will be missed by all.
What a wonderful tribute to the most amazing, gracious, and loving woman! Mar and I had our years together in the North of 60 family. She was fiercely protective of “her” crew on that show and loved us all. My highlight of the day was to go up to her office, have a visit, and try to make her laugh- that great rolling laugh which I am sure could be heard at Albert Golo’s cabin across the river. That laugh and the joy that it brought made your day.
Double M- anyone who ever met you, mourns your passing. Godspeed on your journey.
Marilyn I miss you so much. My heart felt condolences goes out to all Marilyn’s family. I met Marilyn at the PLC in May of 2010, we both were there for 4.5 months. One of the best that ever happened to me.
Marilyn Rest in Peace, and may the Lord Love, Cherrish and take Care of the rest of her family.
Dear Ardelle, Joanne and families…
What a beautiful tribute to Marilyn – I loved your words, it really did capture the spirit of “Mar”. I always admired her self confidence, her generosity of spirit and her wonderful sense of humour. I haven’t seen Marilyn for many years – but you are right… I can still hear the echos of her laughter! Marilyn could talk to anyone about anything… what a gift!
May your memories and the sharing of Marilyn “stories” with family and friends bring you peace. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers – with love.
Joan (Miller) Townend

Those Hearts That We Have Treasured (by Sylvia Dunstan)
Those hearts that we have treasured,
those lives that we have shared,
those loves that walked beside us,
those friends for whom we’ve cared,
their blessing rests upon us,
their life is memory,
their suffering is over,
their spirits are set free.
They still give hope and comfort,
they did not lose the fight,
they showed us truth and goodness,
they shine into our night.
Remember days of gladness;
remember times of joy;
remember all the moments
that grief cannot destroy.
From hearts that we have treasured,
from lives that we have shared,
from loves that walked beside us,
from friends for whom we’ve cared,
we’ve learned to treasure kindness,
we’ve learned that grace provides,
we’ve learned to be together,
we’ve learned that love abides.

I remember Marilyn’s laugh well, and that great smile. The film industry has lost a great person, but we remember her gifts.

Dear Family:
Word of Marilyn’s passing was sad news. May she rest in peace. Sheila
Dear Family:
Word of Marilyn’s passing was sad news. May she rest in peace. Sheila
I have so many wonderful memories of Marilyn: the reference she wrote me that said “Dianne works well under constant supervision and constantly strives for adequacy”; the email that had me convinced she was giving up work to volunteer for the Red Cross… until I opened the attachment and saw the pic of her future “co-workers”, i.e. a bunch of shirtless hotties; all the times she called me a “pushy cow” as a term of endearment; her smile and big laugh. I’ll miss you, MM.
Dear Ardell
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. May God Bless and take care of you.
This is such sad news. My heart felt condolences to Marilyn’s family. I worked once with Marilyn on a movie in Calgary years ago, and the memory of her warmth and humour stayed with me. I’ll miss her not being with us…Kind regards, Kim
Marilyn was indeed a special spirit in this world and I am blessed to have known her and had my life enlarged because of her. Her spicy emails, her heartfelt letters and phone calls and being in her presence made me feel like I was on top of the world. She had a way of making all those around her feel welcomed and loved. I shall miss our sweet Angel. I imagine she is kicking up a storm in the heavens, red nails and bangles included. All my love – Diane
