Condolences
I am so sorry to hear about Mark. I had the pleasure of working with Mark in the Faculty of Nursing. He would always pop by my office to chat about my puppy and to see how things were going. I always watched and waited for him to pop by. My condolences to your family and Mark’s friends. He will truly be missed.
Dear Susan,
Mark was such a wonderful, warm hearted, and funny man. It was always a joy to be in his company. I will really miss him. Who else it going to be able to remember the names of all the cast members of Law and Order??? My deepest condolences to you and Mark’s family.

Susan – he was a wonderful man who I regret I didn’t get to know well enough. You’re much in my thoughts. ‘Cole’

Susan, So very sorry to hear of Mark’s passing.
I am so very sorry to hear about Mark. I remember you both, Susan and Mark, from my days in Calgary, and I knew him to be a kind, gentle soul. My thoughts are with his family.
Susan, I’m so so sorry to hear about Mark. He was a truly wonderful guy – always a big smile and such a genial easy going nature. Not only was he a joy to work with as a tech at CBC, but he was also so good at what he did. And you two had such a great love story. I remember having dinner with you two in those early days of your relationship and it was so apparent how much in love you were…and continued to be for many years.
I hope our paths will cross again.
Sorry to hear about Mark. He was always the calm and collected one whenever I worked with him.
So sad to learn of Mark’s passing. Although I have not seen Mark for many years, I will miss the chance to see him again. He was a gentle soul who was one of the nice guys! Always ready with a smile and a genuine interest in people. He had the rare ability to listen in a world full of noise. My condolences to Susan and family at this difficult time. The world has lost one of the good guys!
Susan, I was saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. He was one of the techs at CBC that I always enjoyed talking to, a kind & gentle soul. Luckily the two of you were able to have wonderful times together during his. Much too short life. My thoughts are with you.
Dear Susan,
When I think of Mark I feel the kindness, good humour and generosity he offered a sometimes befuddled young AP. I loved getting to know and work with such a creative, smart guy. What a good man. We’re all lucky to have had him in our orbit.
Susan, please accept my deepest condolences. Mark was a gem. One of those warm souls who could light up the room with that smile, those gentle eyes, and big heart. It’s been a long time since our paths crossed and while I don’t remember all the details of our interactions, I sure do remember his positive vibes. He will be missed.
Our paths crossed at both CBC and U of C – Mark was always a joy to work with. Susan know I have been thinking of you since we last worked together- hugs Maureen
Dear Susan,
We were saddened to read of Mark’s passing today. He was your lifelong gem, and our hearts and thoughts go out to you and your families at this difficult time.
With much love,
Terry & Catherine
We only knew Mark for a short time but he soon became a very good friend. we will miss our discussions with him on the front deck where we put the world to rights and also the good times at the Lawn Bowling Club. His special friend Max the dog will miss him a lot and look for him when we pass by the house. A lovely man taken from the world far too soon.
I’m one of those lifelong friends from Burlington. Mark (although we usually just used last names) was a truly great friend and a hilarious kid to grow up with. Why else would so many of us still seek out his friendship for 40 years after he moved way out west? Mark fascinated his gang of friends with his intellect and wit. As I told Mark, I am reliving our early teen years with my 13 yr old son – shooting hoops in the driveway, teaching him how to play Risk and laughing along as he discovers Monty Python. I don’t tell my son about ‘all’ the adventures we had or the trouble we got into (maybe when he’s older and can pay for the beers.) Mark was always artistic and always walked his own path – a great teammate, but never a follower. It was great to see his talent and passion played out in his and Susan’s documentaries, but we know he added mirth to everywhere he worked. We didn’t talk frequently, but when we did it was like we talked yesterday. We will miss his smile and his laugh and his sense of humour.
