It's been over ten years now and the hole you left is as big as ever. Your love of life, your booming laugh, your incomparable jiving and your love of The Rover's song "Wasn't That A Party" loom large in my memory. I miss your Grey Cup parties, your Thanksgiving dinners and your summer barbecues. We lost one of the good ones when we lost you.
My sympathies and condolence to you on the death of Don. I feel I was fortunate to have run into you both at Safeways a few weeks back. Lots of memories from the old Ramsay days. Don’s passing reminds us to make the most of every day. My thoughts are with you at this time.
Dear George & Carol and all other family members I have not met – I send my deepest sympathy in this time of sorrow..
I met Don only once (since he was 7 yrs. old, in Henry’s house in Ramsay-do you remember George ?). The last time we met he was doing the plumbing/heating at the Heritage site schoolhouse moved from the Bearspaw Lion’s Club property across the highway to it’s present location.
It is very sad to hear of your loss. Our families have known each other for years. Possibly of some condolence, he will be joined by two wonderful people, my Aunt and Uncle Carol Mattern who passed March 23, 2012 and Frank Mattern who passed March 4,2012
We were so saddend to hear of Don’s passing and send our deep condolences to you Lise and all Don’s family.
We both have lots of great memories sharing time with Don at 285 Legion. He gave a lot of time volunteering there and got Michael & I involved. He will be greatly missed by us all.
George and Carol Kuss feel very sad at our brother Don’s passing and we will certainly miss him as will the rest of the family and his many friends in the industry and all his many buddies at 285 Canadian legion and the 2098 Fraternal order of Eagles….
Don’s wife Lise and family supported Don to the end and he was very positive that he would fight off the illness up to his last day,he is now rid of his pain and suffering you were a great guy Don and we will miss you.. George Carol
I offer my sympathies on your loss of Don. I had the good fortune to know Don for over twenty years and I enjoyed the times that we met over that period. I will miss the opportunity to spend time with him.
