Obituary of Donald Arnold KUSS
November 30, 1941 – March 22, 2012
Donald (Don) Arnold Kuss beloved husband of Lise of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the age of 70 years.
Donald was born in Manitoba and when he was six years old his family moved to Calgary. Donald was an accomplished plumber, steamfitter and gasfitter. He owned his company for more than forty years. He loved playing sports, in particular golfing, curling and hunting. Don was a long time member of Legion 285 and fraternal order of Eagles 2098 volunteering his time generously.
Besides his loving wife Lise, Don will be lovingly remembered by his son Rick (Georgie); daughter Sheri (Ken Lay); adopted son Dwayne; and grandchild Taila. He is also survived by brothers George (Carol) and Wilf (Ina); sister Dorothy and nephew Greg (Deb). He was predeceased by his father Henry Kuss; mother Matilda Zimmer; sisters, Ruth, Juanita and Beatrice; brother Lloyd; and adopted son Blaine.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A special thank you is extended towards the Tom Baker special services unit and Southwood Hospice who provided a great deal of comfort during his final days.
