Obituary of Meinrad Winfried HOFFMANN

July 1, 1918 – March 9, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Meinrad Hoffmann on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Meinrad was born in Breslau, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his wife Eva (nee Rother) and daughters, practising medicine in Ile a la Crosse, SK and area for twenty years. After the passing of his wife, he returned to Germany where he met and married Eva Margaret (nee Hentschel) and worked in LaLoche, SK. They lived in Calgary for the past thirty years. Meinrad is survived by his loving wife Eva (nee Hentschel); daughters Gabrielle (Brian Enright) and Celestine Bortolin; grandchildren, Rodney Sorochuk (Freyda), Tanya Hollasch (Robert), Glen Sorochuk, Kim Hunt (Ryan) and Ryan (Kathy), Leah and Jeff Bortolin; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface German Catholic Church (1923 Broadview Road N.W.) on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
