Obituary of Hugh Francis MCKEVITT

June 19, 1934 – March 9, 2012 Surrounded by family, Hugh McKevitt passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, March 9, 2012 at the age of 77 years. After returning from a wonderful family vacation in Cancun on Tuesday, his health deteriorated rapidly ending his year long struggle with cancer. Hugh leaves behind his darling wife of twenty-nine years, Marilyn; his daughters, Alanna McCarty (Bob), Deanna Rachkewich (Lyle), Shauna David (Al), Jana Maynes (Jason), Laura Giberson (Todd) and stepsons Kevin Stuckert (Keitha), Greg Stuckert (Helen) as well as sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Edwin, and his sisters Audrey and Alberta. He was predeceased by the girls’ mother Maureen, his brother Larry and his sister Sheila. Papa lives on through his family as we continue to honor his values and traditions. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Hugh’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
