Obituary of Ava Dianne Nina LAZZAROTTO

March 26, 1962 – February 24, 2012 Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 after a courageous and selfless battle with cancer. Ava was born in Lethbridge, AB and spent her early years there before moving to Calgary in 1985 to manage and expand a clothing store Body Things and then on to a graphic design position at Digi-Rule Inc. After that she attended SAIT where she earned her network support certification which led her to her management position at IBM Global Services which she held for the last sixteen years. poet, musician and performing artist, Ava had a passion for yoga and was a certified instructor. She also was an assistant for the Calgary Japanese Language School. Ava contributed her time to many communities including the Calgary Aikido community, hockey community volunteer, and Scouts Canada. Ava was loved by everyone who had the chance to know her. She was soft-spoken and had a selfless soul and truly giving spirit. Ava lived her whole life with grace, compassion, dignity and never complained right to her last days. She was always thankful and was always giving help or support to the people around her without ever expecting anything in return. Ava was one of the few people who knew the true meaning of unconditional love and those who knew her would have been blessed to receive it. She was a totally unique person and it can be said there is not another person as kind-hearted as she. She was a compass, guided with love in the centre, which is obvious by some of her last words to us during her last days. She said “love everyone”. She will be truly missed by all. Ava never gave up hope and did whatever she could do to stay close with her treasured family for as long as possible. She leaves behind to fondly remember her, her loving husband Fred; two sons, Dakota and Logan; her sister Gina Davies; mother and father-in-law Jack and Carol Omura; sister-in-law Sharon Omura (Dan Morrison) and their children Andrew and Keilin; brother-in-law Robert (Niki Wyman) Omura; sister-in-law Jeanette Omura and her children, Ariana, Patrick (Joni) and their daughter Mackenzie; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ava was predeceased by her parents Charles and Nina Lazzarotto; her grandparents, Peter and Anna Lazzarotto and George and Harpina Russakow; as well as many other aunts and uncles.
