Condolences
So sorry to hear the sad news that cousin Don has passed away. May he rest in peace. Our sincere condolences to Katy Lou, Sydney and all the family from Fran & Brendan Leeson, Ireland.
Don’s heart was always with his Katie and in the Arctic North where they spent such meaningful and exciting times. We only got to know Don as a Calgarian with a great heart and through his genuine fellowship. At 99 he set an example in our Eau Claire Gym…. where he came to exercise when the winter weather closed in so much that he couldn’t do his daily walk in the parks or in search of a backpack of provisions. The sincerity and sparkle of his eyes and the energy that he gave to everyone he met, made him such a great Canadian. The Arctic was a warmer place with him there….and so were all the places he lived and visited daily. We will deeply miss his confident, steady, fun loving …… disarming and natural way. He was an inspiration to us all.
I frequently told Don that he was my idol. Don and Katy Lou lived the way I dream of living my life.
You rarely saw one with out the other unless you were in the fitness room at Eau Claire Estates where I frequently saw Don riding the bike or using the universal gym.
This is a huge loss for the McLauchlan family and especially for Katy Lou. Don will be missed but he will always be my idol
Memories of our first meeting with Don & KatyLou was in Whitehorse at the RCMP AGM. We spend many wonderful hours together, which will remain with us forever. We were actively preparing for another AGm on the cruise to Alaska in May this year. We are so very sad that our reunion there will not happen. We will treasure your book for the rest of our lives also…Much love KatyLou…Maureen and Tom
To Mrs. McLauchlan and the rest of the family, I offer my condolences. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to care for Don’s eyes for many years. He always displayed great energy and provided numerous stories during our visits.

George: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I am sure you were very proud of him and his career as a police officer with the RCMP. I am sure you will recall many fond memories of your times with him.
We have lost a Dear Neighbour and Don will be missed at Eau Claire. Our thoughts and prayers are with Katy Lou and Family
Although we didn’t really know Don except as a neighbour whom we often saw out walking, we will miss his cheerful smile. Please accept our condolences.
