Obituary of Mary KANE
January 6, 1946 – February 17, 2012
Mary Kane, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17th, 2012 with family at her side.
Mary was born in Colgrennan, County Carlow, Ireland, the oldest of seven siblings raised at the Lanigan’s Lock House in Clogrennan.
She immigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1967 and worked at the Calgary Board of Education for over twenty years where she held a Building Operator’s Certificate.
Mary loved to travel everywhere with her best friend Ann, especially back home to Ireland to visit extended family. She was a longstanding member of the Irish Cultural Society in Calgary and actively involved with the Irish community in general. She loved to volunteer for various causes for the greater good.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, doing crafts, going to movies and shopping. She was respected by many due to her kind demeanor, humor and willingness to help others.
Mary is survived by her three children, Arlene (Adrian), Andrea (Mike), and Christopher (Chauntelle); grandchildren, Keegan, Ciera, Jordan, Zoe, Khalia, Drayden and Brynn-Lee; and her siblings in Ireland, Jack, Eamon, Pat, Nick, Eugena, and Tommy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Nicholas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Road N.E.) on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the St Thomas More food hamper.
