Obituary of Carlo Manzara

September 29, 1935 –February 8th, 2012 Following a brief illness, Carlo passed away peacefully on February 8, 2012 at the Foothills Hospital. He was predeceased by two infant sons, his parents Marino and Gina, and his eldest brother Joe. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years Gerry (nee Gentles), sons Leonard (Nancy) and Stephen (Julie), and precious granddaughter Ella. He is also survived by his brother Arnold and a large extended family in Canada and Italy. Carlo was a teacher at Bishop Grandin High School for over thirty years. With his good friend Mary Lou Mastromonaco, he especially enjoyed organizing and leading many student trips to Europe each year at Easter time. He was very active with the Alberta Teachers Association and served two terms as President of Local 55. For over forty years Carlo was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Choir, and most recently enjoyed singing in the tenor section of the Calgary Italian Choir.
