Obituary of Agnes Gibby GIBBONS

July 20, 1908 – January 19, 2012 Gibby Gibbons passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the age of 103 years. Gibby was born in Texas, where she grew up, graduated college and became a school teacher. In the mid 1930’s she married and then moved to Turner Valley/Black Diamond area. She moved to Calgary in the 1950’s and lived in the same house for over 50 years. Gibby enjoyed fishing and gardening, was an avid bridge player, an accomplished seamstress and was active in Grace Presbyterian Church. She had a great interest in life and people and had a wonderful sense of humour. Gibby will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She leaves her daughter Margaret Simpson, granddaughter Samantha Simpson, grandson Benjamin Simpson, great-grandson Oliver Simpson-Reynolds and brother John Walton. A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 – 15 Avenue S.W.) on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
