Obituary of Roderick James MacKENZIE

August 22, 1946 – January 18, 2012 Roderick (Rod) James MacKenzie beloved husband of Jane of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the age of 65 years. Rod achieved many successes in his life in the oil, gas and sulphur industries. He would say though, that his greatest success was as a devoted Papa to his grandchildren. He took great pride in watching them grow and was actively involved in their sports endeavors. He was their greatest fan and they his. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Besides his loving wife Jane of forty-one years, Rod leaves to mourn his beloved son and daughter Scott (Jacquelyn) and Erin; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Chanelle, Lukus, Ryder, Jasmine, Liam and “Peanut” due in July 2012. He is also survived by his sister Margaret (Larry) Westbrook of Victoria, BC; and many extended family members on Jane’s side; as well an numerous dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jean and Alastair MacKenzie and his parents-in-law Joan and Walt Thiede.
