Condolences
Mrs. Johnston, Dwayne, Peter and family;
Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathy on the passing of Mr. Johnston.
He was the wisest and most caring coach and mentor a young person could have ever asked for. Whether it was a silent hand on the shoulder or a "friendly" raising of his voice, he seemed to know the right thing you needed at any given moment, on or off the ice.
The lessons he taught me went far beyond hockey and I am so grateful for that.
A nicer man and a kinder soul you will not meet.
Godspeed coach.
Tom Charuk
I will never forget the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne. It was December 2013, we had a newborn and it was inevitably pouring snow in our community located in Calgary. I heard a shovel hitting the cement and it seemed to be coming closer and closer to our doorstep. I peeked outside my window and found this angel shoveling the heavy snow on our large corner lot. I opened the door and said "What are you doing?! Its freezing out here!" to which Wayne replied "Oh don't worry dear, I'm almost finished!" Wayne was more than just a friendly neighbor, he was a rare, beautiful, giving soul that this world was so lucky to have. His selflessness and compassion was and always will be inspirational. I am continually sending my love to Flo and his family.
Dear Flo, Dwayne, Pete and Families
Our deepest sympathy, Wayne was a wonderful friend, he will be missed by all of us.
Some people leave footprints on our hearts and are never forgotten, Wayne was one of those people.

In the Loss of Wayne he was the best brother-in-law and such a great friend we have many memories RIP
A kind heart, a love so sincere, warm and adoring. The love Wayne expressed for Florence. Seeing Wayne and Flo after some 40 plus years of marriage Wayne shared his heroic bank robber story with the same expression of love for Flo as he did when I first met him in the kitchen of my Mom’s home in Brudenell P.E.I.. Throughout the years, on every occasions with Wayne and Flo, Wayne exuded his caring, helpful, positive and loving energy. Warm thoughts to Flo, Dwayne, Kari, Peter and Christine.
Flo, Dwayne, Kari and family, Peter and Christine our deepest sympathies and condolences. Our hearts go out to you on the loss of a great husband father and grandfather. A man we have had the honour and privilege of having not only as a friend but also as a valued member of our family..
Rest in peace. Gerry and Lucy McGilligan

We thought of you today
But that is nothing new
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence

Condolences to Flo and family. A loss of a dear husband, father and grandfather and a loss of a great friend. Glenn and I were so lucky to have met Wayne and Flo several years ago. Wayne was such an exuberant guy, always smiling and finding the best in everything. We are left with great memories, trips together, golf games and happy hours. So happy to have a copy of his book, he’ll always be with us and his family.
