Condolences
It is with a heavy heart to just now hear of Layne's passing. Layne was my son's Matthews friend since Jr Hight school and I had the privilege of watching these teenage boys grow up into beautiful men. Layne would visit us over the years and share his adventures. My last big moment with Layne was in Cuba at Matthew's wedding where he was so entertaining and a hit with my grandkids, especially Michael. Layne made us all feel so special and so lucky to have know him.
Our sincerest condolences and prayers to Donna and Emmet and all his beautiful family.

We are so sorry to hear of Layne’s passing. We just found out today and our hearts are so saddened by the news. We as a family were friends with the bauer’s so long ago when joe and layne were quite young. So many years have passed since we’ve been in touch yet it feels like yesterday.
We will remember Layne’s humor, kind heart and always having a big smile on his face.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Donna, Emmett, Rhea and Tanya and families.

So sorry to hear of Layne's passing.
I grew up with Layne and he was one of the sweetest guys I have ever met.
I have not spoken to Layne in years, but I will always remember him making me laugh.
Layne was a big kid when we were young and let’s just say I wasn’t. Whether it be during hockey or anywhere else he always stood up for the little guy.
My deepest condolences to the Bauer’s and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Joe Colonna.
Dear Donna & Emmett,
This isn't the way it's supposed to go. Parents should never have to bury their children. We prayed it would not be so and we are very sorry that you are going through this heartbreaking loss. Our sincerest condolences to you, Rhea, Tania, and all the family.
Love, Delmer & Theresa Schemenauer
Our hearts are so saddened at Layne's passing. His devastated family and everyone who knew him has lost a beautiful young man long before his time. He fought the battle against cancer with dignity and courage. His positive attitude of how to face life will always remain in our memory when we think of him.
With love, Shirley and Bob
Layne, the fun and the great laughs we shared while working, traveling and hanging out. Belize, Memphis, St. Saint Marie, Lillooet, Chilliwack & Ladysmith where you turned into our table server at the Horseshoe Pub. The music jams we had well into the am and shoot hours later sharing stories of our lives, your folks, your travels with other buds, so great. Your trip into the jungle, who was that with, Thailand , you told me everything! I asked you to work with me this summer as a stil photographer just to hang with you, but brother you couldn't make it. The saddest part is I'll never hear that infectious laugh and you pulling down your pants so the crack of your ass was showing when we came on scene! Thanks for the great memories brother! My best to your family in Calgary ❤️
I have been so incredibly saddened by your passing! I have such vivid memories of the days spent in Lethbridge back in '95. Too many experiences to share. But one in particular comes to mind. The night after the bar we caught a cab to the back of the police station(ironically)and began to walk across the high level bridge. It took us over 4 hours. Whatever alcohol may have been consumed prior was surely out of our systems by the time we safely completed our round trip journey on the train bridge.
So many thoughts have gone through my head since I saw the post of your passing. If I could go back in time and give you any advice at all...I wouldn't! Why? Because you LIVED an amazing life! You've seen the world and they saw you! I cant imagine anyone meeting you and not making a friend and that's apparent in each post from your loving friends around the world!
My memory of Lethbridge has always been dear to me and you were in so many. Those memories are now so much more valuable to me! You lived a life rich with experience! I'm going to miss you terribly!
'To Mr and Mrs Bauer and Laynes sisters. I'm thinking of you during this time! Layne spoke so highly of you all and it was such a pleasure to have met you many years ago at your home in Calgary.
Sending you love!
