Obituary of Layne Emmett BAUER

July 11, 1975 – Edmonton, Alberta
December 18, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Layne passed away surrounded by family on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the age of 45 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Layne spent his life living every moment to the absolute fullest. His career as a videographer combined his two biggest passions: creating and travelling. From skydiving, to swimming with sharks, to filming grizzlies in the arctic, Layne utilized every moment in his life to create adventure. Those who Layne leaves behind will remember him always for his infectious laugh, generosity, love of life and his big-heart.

Besides his loving parents, Donna and Emmett, Layne leaves behind sisters, Rhea (Noel) Bernard and Tania (Roland) Doepker; nieces Macala, Kassidy, Dana, Haylee; and nephew Emmett; along with many friends, family and co-workers who he will be lovingly remembered by.

At this time there will be no formal service for Layne, a Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends in the coming months, currently targeted for July 11- his birthday.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that anyone desiring to donate, please donate to the “Haying in the 30’s”, a non-profit organization that donates 100% of their profits to support those who are affected by cancer.
